From your own desk, manage and resolve Windows System Crashes (Blue Screen of Death/BSOD). The Alexander SPK Enterprise Edition ensures that the servers and PCs you oversee will recover automatically, it will diagnose the cause of the failure, and it will report to your desktop or laptop
automatically. In minutes you’ll be able to take action, instead of struggling with cryptic data and recurring crashes for weeks or even months. Whether you take care of a few systems or thousands; manage them in-house or remotely; for the office where you work or for clients outside, the Enterprise Edition makes it simple.
     The Alexander SPK (System Protection Kit) Enterprise Edition supports Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003. It is comprised of several components: 
 
          SPK Crash Capture Agent
          SPK Crash Analysis Engine
          SPK Crash Management Console

SPK Agent Grabs Crash Data and Sends for Analysis
     When any of your Windows Servers or PCs has a system crash, the SPK Agent ensures that a memory dump is saved to disk and that the system is restarted. Once the system is operating again, the Agent reports the event to the SPK Engine and transfers the crash data for processing. Optionally, the Agent can send an SNMP trap as well.
 
SPK Engine Turns Cryptic Data into Clear Solutions
     The SPK Engine distills the memory dump to a small file of about 150k. During this process it goes to microsoft.com where it imports critical system data, precisely matched to your system’s OS, Service Pack, Hot Fix, etc., level. This data is then utilized to produce an SPK Crash Report that pinpoints the cause of your crash. The entire process replicates having a senior MS systems engineer using a debugger to analyze your crash.
     The original memory dump file is saved or purged per your policies. The Engine reports the completed report to the SPK Console and it generates
SNMP traps and/or email alerts to IT staff.
 
SPK Console Simplifies Diagnostics and Management
    
Within minutes, an SPK Crash Report is ready for viewing at the SPK Console. In most cases, the SPK will report the name of a driver that caused the crash.
     The console also enables you to set configuration switches for any server or PC, as well as for entire groups of systems. In less than a minute, the configuration change takes place. This dramatically simplifies the effort of managing and diagnosing problematic systems wherever they are.

Local or Remote, the Enterprise Edition Makes it Easy
     Taking care of systems close by or far away is easy. The SPK uses TCP/IP sockets to communicate between its modules. You can tell it to have SPK Agents report in from servers and PCs using machine names or IP addresses.
 
SPK Works Invisibly in the Background

     Note that all of this is done in the background so that your users see nothing, only you and your IT staff know what happened.
     With the cause known, resolution is made simple. By solving the cause after the first occurrence prevents typically another dozen crashes, resulting in huge savings of time and money.
 
Easy Installation
     The SPK Enterprise Edition comes in a Base Kit, including the Console, Agents for 1 server and 5 PCs, and the Engine. Install it on your primary PC or any other PC or server. It does not need to be a dedicated machine (Do allow hard drive space in case you wish to store memory dumps.) Installation takes only a few minutes. 
     Once installed, it is simple to expand the SPK’s coverage of your network. Simply press a button on the Console to launch
AgentMaker. This will create a module that you can deploy to all of the servers and PCs included in your license (note that you can add licenses for servers and PCs at $149 and $20 each respectively.)  Use whatever method you normally use to deploy software and have it launched. The SPK Agent will automatically be set up on each server and/or PC, and it will connect back with the Engine so that you can manage all systems from the Console.

 
Integration
     The SPK is designed for integration. This is important since no IT management products include crash management. The SNMP traps and email SPK Crash Reports can be integrated into other products. In addition, custom integration is available by contacting Alexander LAN, Inc. directly.
